VOLUME 72 FEBRUARY 2020 NUMBER 2
HOLY COMMUNION IS CELEBRATED EVERY SUNDAY
"LOVE" seems to be the theme for the month of February" hearts, angels, flowers, etc. Regardless how romantic the greeting cards may be, they pale in intensity to the Love of God for you and me, His children. "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him (Jesus), should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) Holy Communion has often been called "the Love Feast" of the Christian Church. Here we hear, see, and taste the Love of God for us. We participate in God's love; not only receiving, but giving our hearts back to Him and to others of the forgiveness that we have received.
Won't you make a very special effort to join your sisters and brothers of the faith around the altar of the Lord. It's a precious and special time with the Lord.
Wednesday, February 26 is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Lenten services with Holy Communion will be held.
Shut-ins not receiving Holy Communion should call the Church Office (570-368-8933) to get on the schedule.

They began packing for the program in August of 2018 serving 60 children with weekend bags of food. They increased the number in January 2019 to serve 80 students and followed this by increasing the number to 120 students. In September, they had a request to increase the serving number to 131 students each weekend and finally their wishes are to increase in 2020 to 150 students. This will take it to packing 600 bags of weekend food once a month. These bags are then given to the school in large plastic bins and handed out privately to the students from the counselors. If you are aware of a student in the Montoursville School District that is not getting these items and could benefit from the program, please contact their school counselor. The school counselor will then follow through with their household adult. When it came time to pack in August for September items, they were very short. They discovered that over the summer their contributions had drastically decreased. It is important that you know they will need to get ready in the summer for the August packing and to collect even in the summer.

Items needed: toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving cream, razors, shampoo, conditioner, women's hygiene products, towels/wash cloths, bedding, blankets, tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, soap, deodorant, combs, baby diapers, baby shampoo, baby oil, baby Q-tips, baby wipes, baby powder.
We are still sharing our knitting, crocheting, and quilting gifts with others by making blankets of all sizes (baby, children, adult) for those with cancer or going thru traumatic experiences at hospitals. Please bring to the Church Office.
